Child of God (Poetry)

Watch over my son Dear Lord, watch over my son. My little boy grown into a man Dealing with issues I definitely understand, Guide his steps and hold his hand Lead him in your direction And teach him to be a godly man, Protect him from the enemy Who would love to bring him down And drag him to places he shouldn’t be around Or accuse him of things with whispering sounds. Cover him with your holy blood, Put a hedge of protection around my son, So that he can stand firm on the ground he walks on With the truth of your word written in his heart, Teach him to love just like you love Guard his mind from the evil lies Protect his heart at all times, Thank you, Lord, your plans for my son are good Give him wisdom to know what he needs to do with his life May he have ears to hear and eyes to see Things that are from thee, Jesus you are the truth, the way and the life, I trust you’ll watch over my son Every day and night.
